Chamber’s skills are still needed

The new marketing group appears to be a foregone conclusion, according the recent Ketchum City Council meeting. If that is the case, I wish to express my endorsement of the chamber in its capacity to continue to produce events, provide visitor services and support the business community.

I have worked with the chamber for many years and witnessed firsthand its deep dedication to the production of events and advocacy for businesses in the valley. It has an excellent staff that works tirelessly for the betterment of the life of the community culturally, athletically and economically. It has a long-developed history with the people of the valley as audiences, participants and volunteers. The cities and the community in general have handed it that task over the years and as a result it is infinitely more in tune with the populace to produce these services. Past history indicates that chamber staff members know the needs of our visitors and are well versed in the outreach that hospitality requires.

Hopefully, this new group will work well and in tandem with the chamber. That said, I encourage the city of Ketchum to continue to support the chamber. I encourage our citizens to support the chamber. I, for one, will re-up my membership and hope others will do the same.
