Sun Valley Resort will offer an evening of music and a barbecue on the lawn surrounding the Sun Valley Opera House and duck pond to celebrate the Fourth of July.

The party will begin Sunday, July 4, at 5 p.m. with local high school music talent, followed by the country-western band Sound Country. The barbecue will start at 6 p.m., offering hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, garden burgers and ice cream.

At 8 p.m., the Rhinestone Ropers will perform with Sound Country. And the Rhinestones Ropers are bringing along their trick horse Lucky Joe for a special appearance.

Free events include miniature train rides, roping and rope making, bingo, sack races, a bouncy house, beanbag toss, fly-fishing casting and face painting. The night will culminate with a fireworks display at about 10 p.m.
