RNC chair Steele speaks tonight

Event at River Run is GOP fundraiser

Republican National Committee Chair Michael Steele will come to Ketchum today, June 18, to speak at River Run Lodge as part of a Republican Party fundraiser.

Steele has been GOP chair since 2009, and is the first African-American to hold the position. The topic of his speech has not been announced.

The agenda for the evening includes an appearance from District 25 Senate candidate Jim Donoval, District 25 House candidate Alex Sutter, comedian Eric Golub and film director Paul Croshaw.

The event will begin with a VIP reception from 6-7 p.m. Tickets for the reception cost $500. The VIP reception will be followed by a "social summit" reception at a cost of $25 per person.

All proceeds will benefit the Idaho Republican Party and the Blaine County Republican Party.

Debbie O'Neill, vice chair of the Blaine County Republican Party, said she hoped as many as 500 people will attend the event, including Rep. Mike Simpson, Sen. Jim Risch and Lt. Gov. Brad Little.
