Fundraiser will benefit fish

A burgers and "brats" barbecue will take place on Saturday, June 19, at the Sweetwater Clubhouse in Hailey at 5 p.m., with live music by the Kim Stocking Band until 10 p.m. The event will benefit Idaho Steelhead and Salmon Unlimited.

Tickets are $20 for all-you-can-eat burgers and brats, which includes baked beans, potato salad, corn on the cob and chips. A $20 ticket also includes 30 raffle tickets and one green bonus raffle ticket. A $50 ticket also includes a year membership to Idaho Steelhead and Salmon Unlimited.

A raffle and silent auction will include items from Sturtevants, Lost River Outfitters, Zou 75, The Guide Shop, Shepp Ranch, The BrickHouse, East Cape RV, Splash and Dash, Guffy's, Rocky Mountain Hardware and Sun Valley Bronze.

Special airport meeting set

A special meeting will be held by the Blaine County Airport Advisory Committee on Monday, June 21, at 10:30 a.m. to discuss procedures for the committee to make recommendations to the Blaine County Commission, and the commission to respond to the group's recommendations.

The meeting will be held in the upstairs meeting room of the Blaine County Annex across from the courthouse in Hailey.

Council Circle to hold fundraiser

People can celebrate the summer solstice Hawaiian-style with a Council Circle fundraiser dinner at Cam and Margie Cooper's home on 421 Sabala St. in Ketchum on Sunday, June 20, from 6-8:30 p.m. The dinner is $50 and proceeds will support the Circle Foundation After-School Program. The Council Circle Foundation is raising funds to support and maintain the 2010-11 after-school youth program currently provided at five local schools.

Micky and the Motorcars plan show

Micky and the Motorcars will play in Bellevue on Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the John Alan Partners Outdoor Pavilion, just south of Atkinsons' Market. Tickets are $15 and kids under 10 get in free. Tickets are on sale at Mahoney's, Guffys, Oak Street Foods, and the Valley Market. Proceeds will support the Bellevue Labor Day Celebration.

Doors open at 4:30 p.m. The Kim Stocking Band will take the stage at 5:30 p.m. and Micky and the Motorcars will perform at 7 p.m.

NAMI to hold yard sale

The National Alliance on Mental Illness of the Wood River Valley seeks items for donation for an indoor yard sale on Saturday, July 31. Items should be in good condition and not include large appliances, paint and solvents or junk.

NAMI will pick up items. Donations for the yard sale will raise money to benefit NAMI programs. For details, call 309-1987.

Mentors for kids sought

The Blaine County office of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Idaho seeks volunteers to serve as mentors in the Wood River Valley. No special skills or experience are needed.

Idaho Power rewards Ketchum

Idaho Power has given a $13,185 check to Ketchum for its energy-efficient light upgrades saving 110,000-kilowatt hours per year, enough electricity to power eight average-size homes. The new lights will save the city $6,500 a year in electric bills.

The money was received as part of Idaho Power's program that provides cash incentives for large commercial and industrial customers that undertake complex projects to improve efficiency.
