Sunday is Father's Day, but there's no reason why dads can't be honored all weekend. Sales for grills and tools are standard fare but Dad may enjoy something different.

Take him on a day trip to Cold Springs Winery in Hammett, Idaho, for the winery's fourth annual New Releases Party. Cold Springs Winery is launching its new label and will also have a wine tasting of all its new wines with live music, an art show and tri-tip barbecue on Saturday, June 19, from 3-7 p.m. Tickets are $18. For details, call (208) 366-7993.

Another day trip for Dad can be an excursion to Mackay for the 65th annual Mackay Rodeo. Called the "greatest show on dirt," the open rodeo will take place Saturday, June 19. Admission is $8 adults and $4 children 6-12. A parade is at noon and the rodeo starts at 2 p.m. For details, call (208) 588-3027.

Dad may want to travel north to Galena Lodge for its Father's Day brunch on Sunday, June 20, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with live music by Bruce Innes. The brunch is $20 for adults and $12 for kids under 12. The brunch, prepared by Chef Don Shepler, will include omelets made to order, veggie scramble, French toast strata, breakfast potatoes, bacon, sausage, smoked salmon, house-made pastries, granola, cobbler and salads. In addition, Bloody Marys will be served all day. No reservations are needed. Galena Lodge is 23 miles north of Ketchum off state Highway 75. For details, call 726-4010 or visit galenalodge.com.

If staying close to home is more suitable for Dad, take him to the BrickHouse in Bellevue on Sunday, June 20, for a porterhouse steak dinner. If reservations are made today, Dad will receive a gift certificate to Ketchum on the Fly for a free hand-tied custom fly. For reservations, call 788-4999.

Perhaps Dad needs a day at the Sun Valley Resort, where he can spend time at the Sun Valley Gun Club for a sporting clay fun shoot with 100 targets and barbecue for $35 on Saturday, June 19. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and shooting starts at 10 a.m. For details, call 622-2111.

Sun Valley Club will offer Dad an opportunity to play its 18-hole Sawtooth Putting Course for free on Sunday, June 20. In addition, a clubhouse barbecue will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For tee times, call 622-2251.

Dad may just want to relax for the day and enjoy a massage at Zenergy in Ketchum. All spa treatments include a complimentary day pass to the health club. For details, call 725-0595.
