A jury trial has been scheduled for Sept. 7 for a Hailey man charged with aggravated DUI for allegedly driving drunk and causing an injury accident in April.

Justin Ray Allen, 20, was arraigned on the charge June 7 in Blaine County 5th District Court. He was also arraigned on a misdemeanor charge of leaving the scene of an accident. Allen pleaded not guilty to both counts.

Judge Robert J. Elgee advised Allen that aggravated DUI is punishable in Idaho by up to 15 years in prison and that leaving the scene of an accident is punishable by up to a one-year driver's license suspension and one year in jail.

Allen is currently free on bond. He is represented by Hailey attorney Cheri Hicks through her public defender's contract with Blaine County.

Allen is accused of causing an accident on April 11 on state Highway 75 south of St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center. According to the Blaine County Sheriff's Office, a 30-year-old Hailey man suffered a broken leg in the collision.
