Bradley, Williams keep the cups

President’s Cup at The Valley Club


Carmen Bradley and Suzanne Williams successfully defended their 2009 President's Cup golf titles at The Valley Club Friday and Saturday. Bradley pieced together rounds of 76 and 80 for a two-day total of 156, topping Scott Lucas (76-82) by two strokes. Williams captured the women's title with a two-day gross score of 163. Gundl Haskell was first in net with a pair of 70s for a two-day 140.

Members of the Hailey golf club participated stroke play in three flights in the men's division and one in the women's. Flight winners in net and gross received engraved pewter tankards for their excellent results.

Larry Lloyd (71-73) fired a two-day 144 to win net in the championship flight. Three men, Rich Fabiano (77-73), Kurt Funkhouser (78-72) and Baird Gourlay (75-75), tied for second place with a cumulative 150.

In First Flight gross, Steve Malkmus (84-82) edged Whit Atkinson (82-85) by one stroke, 166 to 167. Net champ was Dick Toomey (66-76 for 142) over Chris Stephens (75-70 for 145).

John Haskell (87-87) fired a 176 gross to claim top honors in the Second Flight. Three strokes behind was Richard St. Clair (90-89-179). First and second in net were Carl Harris (71-71 for 142) and Steven Karassik (73-79 for 152).
