Alan Lynne Mendelsohn, son of Bob and Sue, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2010. He was born on July 2, 1951, in Bellingham, Wash., where he and his family lived until 1963 when they moved to Vancouver, B.C., and he was in the fourth grade. He attended private schools until high school. At that time, the family returned to Bellingham.
Alan began skating at age 4, loved water skiing, golf and especially traveling, which he did a lot of. Because of his illness, he returned to Twin Falls. As his illness progressed, he spent his last days at Heritage Assisted Living in Twin Falls. His brother, Darrel, sister in-law, Denise, his nephew, Zach, and his niece, Molly, will miss him.
We wish to thank Dr. Kent Smith, Alan's longtime physician and good friend, and Erik, his wonderful caregiver.
There will be a family graveside service at Ketchum Cemetery with Rabbi Dan Fink of Boise officiating, followed by a memorial service at St. Thomas Episcopal Church at 3 p.m.
