A Hailey woman escaped serious injury Tuesday in a traffic accident on state Highway 75 north of Shoshone that snarled traffic between the Magic and Wood River valleys and led to transportation of a Gooding man by air ambulance to a Boise hospital.

Idaho State Police reported that the accident occurred about 8:40 a.m. about 10 miles north of Shoshone when a northbound silver 2006 GMC Sierra pickup driven by Randall Webber, 39 of Gooding, drifted into southbound traffic and collided with a blue 2001 Hyundai Elantra driven by Leah Fredback, no age available, of Hailey.

ISP reported that Fredback was wearing a seatbelt and received minor injuries, while Webber was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from his vehicle.

Webber was initially flown by air ambulance to St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls. ISP reported he was stabilized there before being flown to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

The accident remained under investigation late Tuesday afternoon.

State Highway 75 was closed in the area for more than 30 minutes and reduced to one lane for about three hours.
