High school football players from Hailey's Wood River High School, Carey School and Camas County High School of Fairfield are on rosters for the 33rd annual North-South All-Star Shrine Football games Tuesday, June 1 in Burley.
Two games are planned on the gridiron at Burley's Samuel S. Skaggs Sports Complex, with gates opening at 4 p.m. The eight-man football game is set for 5:30 p.m. and the 11-man contest is due to begin at 8 p.m.
Seniors on the North eight-man team include Carey's Wacey Barg, Dillon Simpson, Gonzalo Zarate, Todd Peck, Tyler Chavez and Trevor Peck. Chosen from Camas County were Jake Wise, Derek Walker, Stacy Stroud, Liam Donohoe and Mickenzie Boggs.
Players from Richfield, Hagerman, Shoshone and Dietrich round out the North, while players from Castleford, Oakley, Murtaugh, Jackpot (Nev.), Raft River of Malta, Hansen and Lighthouse Christian Academy are on the South.
Wood River has three players in the 11-man game—running back and linebacker Tyler Peters plus defensive linemen Evan Puluti and Jose Patlan.
Tickets are $5 per person. Net proceeds go to the Shrine Hospitals for Children. Spectators are asked to bring a can of food for Shrine hospitals.
