An 18-year-old Shoshone woman was killed early Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle accident on state Highway 75 near the border of Blaine and Lincoln counties.

Idaho State Police identified the victim as Ana Gomez-Vega. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

According to an ISP news release, the accident occurred shortly before 5:30 a.m. when Gomez-Vega, southbound in a 1996 Honda Passport, lost control of her vehicle. ISP reported that the car "went off and back onto the roadway several times before the vehicle rolled several times coming to rest on its roof."

"Gomez-Vega was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash but was partially ejected from her vehicle," ISP reported.

The accident remained under investigation Tuesday by ISP with the assistance of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.
