U-12 boys reach title match in Idaho Falls

The Sawtooth United U-12 Navy boys' youth soccer team went 2-2 and reached the championship match of the 31st annual Idaho Falls Shootout tournament last weekend.

Navy U-12 boys couldn't solve the defense of Apollo Crew, which beat the SUFC squad twice, 3-1 in the preliminaries and 2-1 in the championship match. Keegan Whitelaw scored in the 3-1 game and Danny Graves in the 2-1 final.

SUFC U-12s won 4-2 over Twin Falls Rapids (goals by Whitelaw, Henry Everitt, Jack Dwyer and Graves) and 2-1 over Apollo Real (Whitelaw, own goal). Next: President's Cup tourney in Boise May 22-23.

The Sawtooth United U-12 White boys also played at Idaho Falls, dropping 3-1, 2-0 and 6-1 decisions despite goals by Brock Mary. Outstanding players were defender Braden Flaherty and forward Mary.
