Vote Werth for change

I am voting for Doug Werth for judge of the Fifth Judicial District. Doug is well qualified for the job and to his credit, he has not engaged in the unseemly currying of endorsements from attorneys in the local legal community who practice in front of the current judge.

As a taxpayer, I do not want my tax dollars to be spent finding judges to replace a sitting judge who is frequently removed from hearing cases because of some undisclosed conflict. This places a burden on the remaining judges and costs real tax dollars to pay for travel and subsistence for not only the judge but also his staff.

Doug Werth's commitment to this community is evidenced by his endless hours working on the Blaine County Planning and Zoning Commission. His leadership on the P&Z has made the planning process more open and fair to all parties.

Without self-aggrandizing, he has been a leader in the community in addressing the issue of preventing domestic violence before problems escalate and this reflects the awareness and experience he has gained as a county prosecutor and now in private practice.

It's time for a change and that's why I'm voting for Doug Werth.
