Home finale Saturday for Warriors laxmen

Spring season for lacrosse team wrapping up


The Wood River Warriors lacrosse team will wrap up its 2010 home season Saturday, May 15 with a 1 p.m. home game against the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies (2-7-1) on the high school pitch in Hailey.

Playoffs for the Treasure Valley Lacrosse League (TVLL) open Tuesday, May 18, but first the Warriors had to close out their regular campaign—starting Tuesday in Mountain Home against the winless Borah Lions of Boise (0-10-0).

In recent games:

Last Saturday, Wood River (2-9-0) dropped an 11-1 decision at Bishop Kelly of Boise (6-4-0). On Tuesday the Warriors won a forfeit over Borah (0-11-0).

At Bishop Kelly, Nick Chase had the only Warriors goal as the host Knights out-shot the Warriors 46-13. Wood River goalie Kasey Barker (12 saves) faced the barrage, led by Blake Batman (3 goals) and Jesse Rohr (3 goals) of Bishop Kelly.

Chase also provided Wood River's goal last Tuesday in a 6-1 loss to the Vallivue Falcons (2-8-0) at Mountain Home. Tanner Marcouiller had the assist, and Barker made 9 saves. Kegan Collins (3 goals) sparked Vallivue (36 shots).
