Bookkeeper goes to jail for theft

Terri Sanders sentenced to 90 days

A former bookkeeper for a Ketchum flooring company was sentenced Monday to 90 days in jail for stealing from her employer in 2006.

Fifth District Court Judge Robert J. Elgee also gave Terri L. Sanders a five-year suspended prison sentence and placed her on supervised probation for three years.

Sanders, 45, of Bellevue, pleaded guilty in March to felony grand theft for depositing a company check for $3,694 into her own account rather than into the account of Espinoza Flooring. In exchange for her guilty plea, a second count of grand theft and two felony charges of forgery were dismissed. Those charges also alleged that Sanders misappropriated funds from her employer.

Sanders was taken into custody at the conclusion of Monday's sentencing hearing to begin her sentence at the Blaine County jail.
