Sun Valley Named Outstanding Tourism Community
The Sun Valley-Ketchum area was awarded the Outstanding Tourism Community award at the Idaho Department of Commerce’s annual Idaho Conference on Recreation and Tourism in Boise last week. The award recognizes a community devoted to the sustainability, growth and development of travel and tourism. Idaho Lt. Gov. Brad Little, middle, presented the award to Chamber Executive Director Carol Waller, right, and Sun Valley Mayor Wayne Willich, left. The 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games, held in Boise and Sun Valley, was awarded the Governor’s Outstanding Tourism Event, given for an event that brings national exposure to Idaho.
