Drivers headed west out of Hailey into Croy Canyon will now have an easier time spotting the planned future home of Croy Canyon Ranch, a private, continuing-care retirement facility backers hope to construct in the coming few years.

Last Friday, representatives of the Croy Canyon Ranch Foundation—the organization that intends to construct the large facility—met in Croy Canyon to unveil a sign at the site. Megan Thomas, St. Luke's Foundation major gift officer, was at the ceremony to announce a $100,000 pledge from St. Luke's Foundation for the fundraising effort.

While a design for the facility has yet to be finalized, preliminary renderings have shown three separate wings for the different levels of residency, all joined by a common area. The facility would also be surrounded by gardens and walking paths to access the natural features that surround the property.

Beyond providing a service, promoters have said, the project would create about 100 jobs, including those necessary for construction. Once completed, the facility would require about 50 full-time employees.
