David Richard McClure

David Richard McClure, 75, a longtime Bellevue resident, died at his home on Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at 7 p.m., the time when many AA meetings in the Wood River Valley begin.

Dave was born on Jan. 12, 1935, in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Arthur and Lucille McClure. He grew up in Boise and attended schools there. He married Nadine Heath on June 2, 1971, in Portland, Ore.

Dave's motto that he shared everywhere he went was: "We are spiritual beings having a human experience." He treasured his relationships with his family and friends most of all, including his AA family. Hobbies were his next most important thing, and he enjoyed everything. Dave loved life and lived it to the max. Among the things he loved doing were flying, sailing, hunting and fishing. He loved being a plumber; it was his way of being of service to people.

Surviving Dave is Nadine, his bride of nearly 39 years, and a legacy of six children and their spouses, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his ever-endeared AA family.

Dave's life was celebrated with an open house on Saturday, May 1, in the family home at 612 N. Fourth Ave. in Bellevue, Idaho.

Memorial contributions will be used to defray expenses for the family, and may be given to Lorna Hamel, Box 162, Bellevue, ID 83313. Cremation was under the care of Wood River Chapel of Hailey. To sign the guest book, please go to www.woodriverchapel.com.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to Hospice of the Wood River Valley, and especially Nancy, for their thoughtful and loving care during this time.
