St. Thomas to host summer camp reception

St. Thomas Playhouse in Sun Valley will have a reception for its Summer Performing Arts Conservatory Camp at St. Thomas Episcopal Church on Tuesday, May 11, at 6:30 p.m. The reception will give information to parents with children entering 5-12 grades.

Attendees will be able to roast their own marshmallows over a fire pit on the outdoor patio and make s'mores. In addition, several beverages and other platters of food will be available, including an outdoor favorite, pigs-in-a-blanket.

Summer Performing Arts Conservatory Camp is held at Camp Perkins near Alturas Lake in the Sawtooth Mountains. The camp is ideal for a young person who has experience and gifts in the performing arts, but it is open to young people who have an abiding curiosity and enthusiasm for singing, theater, dancing and rock band. Campers have morning classes with local professionals and three incredible guest artists from around the country. Afternoons are spent participating in many outdoor activities, plus arts and crafts. Evenings are full of fun events, such as faculty talent /skit night, DJ dance night, and an ice cream feast.

The reception will have flyers, registration forms and a power point and photo display. Young people who have attended the camp will be present to meet kids and talk to them about their experiences. Members of the St. Thomas Playhouse Committee will also be present to give a brief informational speech and answer questions.

Any individual who registers at the party will receive $50 off the camp tuition price. For details, call 726-5349.
