It's a 'Toxic State' at the nexStage

It's time to laugh at the expense of Wall Street which has earned it. A new play by Sun Valley's John Grabow, "Toxic State," does just that. It's a dark comedy about the financial meltdown from the front and back end, with brokers at Countrywild Mortgage pushing no income, no job and no assets, NINJA, subprime loans on the street and investment bankers at Merry Lynch & Co. turning them into gold on Wall Street.

The free reading will take place this evening at 7 p.m. at the nexStage Theatre in Ketchum.

"Toxic State" is a finalist for the prestigious Beverly Hills Theatre Guild's Julie Harris Playwright Award. In addition, the play is also a finalist in the New York Castillo Theatre's Fratti-Newman Political Playwriting Competition.

Two of Grabow's plays have received Los Angeles productions, and three of his plays have previously been given readings at the nexStage Theatre. Grabow lives in Sun Valley with his wife, Laura, and son, Charlie, a sophomore at the Sage School in Hailey.
