The Bellevue Marshal's Office is investigating the death early Monday morning of a Bellevue man at his home on north Fifth Street.

The Marshal's Office identified the man as 23-year-old Alexander Schwab. Police and paramedics were called to the home by the man's mother at 5:06 a.m.

"Basically at this time foul play is not expected," said Bellevue Marshal Bryan Carpita. "We'll have to wait for the coroner's office to determine cause of death. We're just going through all the steps right now."

Blaine County Coroner Russell Mikel said an autopsy will be conducted later this week. Mikel said there was no indication of "external trauma" and the death may be health related. He said blood toxicology tests will also be conducted.

Wood River Fire & Rescue Chief Bart Lassman said police attempted CPR on Schwab but it is likely that he was already dead when authorities were notified. Lassman said paramedics declared Schwab dead at 5:18 a.m.
