Hunger Coalition Hooks Into Record Steelhead Run

Idaho anglers weren’t the only beneficiaries of this year’s record-setting run of steelhead on the upper Salmon River. A sizeable portion of the massive run found its way to the Hailey-based Hunger Coalition. In early April, local anglers led by John Huber of outfitter Ketchum on the Fly helped transport about 350 steelhead caught and spawned at the Sawtooth Fish Hatchery. Anglers Matt Sherman, left, and Josh Barron helped clean the fish at the Mountain Pride food distribution facility in Ketchum. Courtesy photo
