BCRD Aquatic Center to hold lifeguard tryouts

Anyone interested in becoming a lifeguard at the Aquatic Center in Hailey this summer should plan to attend lifeguard tryouts there on Saturday, May 1, at 10 a.m.

Participants should wear comfortable clothing and athletic shoes. The focus of the tryouts will be on physical fitness and team-building activities. No swimming will be involved at tryouts but anyone applying must be able to pass a 100-yard swim test prior to lifeguard training if they are hired.

Before tryouts, participants must fill out a Blaine County Recreation District job application available at the district's office at the Community Campus or online at bcrd.org. Applications should be turned in at the office before tryouts begin.

Lifeguards must be at least 15 years old, physically fit and committed to providing a safe aquatic environment for everyone.
