Rather than elect a permanent chair, the five-member Blaine County Aviation Advisory Committee decided Tuesday to try a rotating chairmanship for two months.
Carl Harris, a professional engineer and aircraft owner, will serve as chair for the May meeting, then relinquish the chairmanship in June to Chris Stephens, a financier and licensed jet pilot.
In June, the group will decide whether to continue rotating chairmanships among members on a monthly basis or name a chair for longer periods.
The group also appointed fellow board member Vanessa Fry, an economics lecturer and teacher, to serve as a spokesperson to the media.
Harris and Stephens also will meet with members of the general aviation community to discuss how they can contribute to planning for a replacement airport for Friedman Memorial in Hailey.
