'Taming of the Shrew' pulls heartstrings

The Wood River Middle School Purple Team presents "The Taming of the Shrew" by the Utah Shakespearen Festival on Friday, April 16, at 7 p.m. The Wild West version is abridged for audiences of all ages. Tickets are $10, available at WRMS and Iconoclast Books in Ketchum. Proceeds benefit Greg Cordovano and family. For details, call 788-3481.

Workshop educates on MCH pheromones

The Sawtooth National Forest and Idaho Department of Lands will give a free workshop to private landowners and arborists on how to use MCH pheromone pouches tonight at 6 p.m. The workshop will take place at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden south of Ketchum. For details, call 727-5021.

YMCA to present 92Y Live broadcast

The 92Y Live from New York City will present a satellite broadcast, "A World in Crisis—What Are Our Moral Obligations?" with Elie Wiesel on Thursday, April 15, at 6 p.m. at the YMCA in Ketchum. The discussion will explore crisis situations, including the Isreali and Palestinian conflict, the threat of nuclear arms in Iran, unstable Pakistan and genocide in Africa. Alfred in April continues at library

The Community Library will host a free screening of Alfred Hitchcock's "Strangers on a Train" on Tuesday, April 20, at 6 p.m. Hitchcock's favorite "doubles" theme is thoroughly explored in this story of two men who meet on a train and whose destinies become forever linked. Garden to hold compost class

The Sawtooth Botanical Garden presents "Compost with Dick and Melinda Springs" at the Sustainability Center in Hailey on Tuesday, April 20, from 5-7 p.m. The class is $10 for garden members and $12 for non-members. For details, call 726-9358.
