Weigh in on River Run

By TREVON MILLIARD

Discussion over a proposed 138-acre River Run base village will be taken to Sun Valley Inn's Limelight Room on Monday, April 12, and Tuesday, April 13, instead of at the usual venue of Ketchum City Hall.

The Monday meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. and the Tuesday meeting at noon.

The venue change is being done to accommodate the ample crowd expected at the meetings, open to public comment. And the meetings will be the last chance for people to weigh in on the project. The Ketchum City Council's final decisions could likely come as soon as April 21 and 22.

For the much-anticipated base village to happen, the council would need to approve extending city limits around the Sun Valley Resort-owned property. The land is currently part of the county, which typically wouldn't allow such a development. The council would also need to approve a planned-unit development for a 19-acre hotel core within the housing development, where—on the east bank of Big Wood River—the 110-foot-tall hotel, parking garages, a restaurant and retail space would be located.
