Whether it's donning a festive hat or finding a suitable basket for egg collecting, Easter weekend is a sign of spring.
Though it may not feel like spring with a foot of new snow on Baldy, it's definitely time for a change in season. Valley residents have a variety of events and activities to choose from to celebrate Easter, whether it's a worship service or a brunch.
If shopping is a celebration, enjoy Burnsie's Easter Egg Tag Hunt in Ketchum today though Sunday with surprise discounts on new items in addition to a bigger store sale. Kids will enjoy the Toy Store's hunt for the golden egg at the Ketchum and Hailey locations on Saturday, April 3, from noon to 3 p.m. A Saturday Easter egg hunt will also take place at the Valley of Peace Lutheran Church in Hailey at 9:30 a.m. In addition, Teddy Bear Corner in Hailey will have an egg hunt at 11 a.m. for all ages.
Easter Sunday on April 4 will offer a variety of hunts, including a hunt after services at 10 a.m. at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Hailey, a hunt after services at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Sun Valley, and a hunt after services at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Sun Valley.
"It will be cold, but we are doing an Easter egg hunt," said Light on the Mountains Rev. John Moreland. "We have a non-traditional interpretation of Easter services."
Light on the Mountains—south of Ketchum—will host an Easter egg hunt after its 9:30 a.m. service. Other Easter egg hunts around the valley will take place at the Presbyterian Church of the Big Wood in Ketchum, which will have an indoor hunt after services at 9:30 a.m. Galena Lodge will have a closing day Easter brunch with an egg hunt at 11:30 a.m. Brunch will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Galena Lodge is 23 miles north of Ketchum off Highway 75.
If brunch is in order for Easter Sunday, enjoy Easter brunch at Cristina's in Ketchum from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m, at Sego in Ketchum from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the Sun Valley Lodge Dining Room from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For Easter dinner, enjoy CK's Real Food Easter prix-fixe dinner from 5-10 p.m.
