Sun Valley Resort has welcomed an estimated 262 racers in this week's 2010 Skier's Edge Masters Nationals alpine ski racing meet. Events continue through Friday.
The Skier's Edge Masters Nationals downhill was Feb. 14 at Aspen, Colo., so this week's races on Baldy from Monday through Friday are super combined, super giant slalom, slalom and giant slalom.
Of the 262 registered racers as of March 22, the overwhelming majority of 103 come from the Intermountain Division including Sun Valley, Idaho, Utah and Wyoming.
And Sun Valley boasts the senior racers of the week in John Droege, 88, and Virginia Reed, 80.
Sun Valley also boasts the lion's share of a very competitive Men's Class 1 (ages 21-29) in Wes Powell, Carl Rixon Jr. and Biche Rudigoz.
Other locals lined up for national racing include Nancy Auseklis, Anna Droege, John Campbell, Bob Sarchett, Robin Sarchett, Drury Cooper, Cliff Cunha, Bob Dreyer, Ken Dreyer, Randy DuBois, Phil Erlanger, Heidi Flood, Jim Grossman, Erika Hogan, Dan Kurdy, Mark Masur, Greg Moore, Kipp Nelson, Jim Ruscitto, John Reagle, Nate Schwing and Meri Stratton.

Here is the race schedule. Keep in mind that the groups are: Group A, men ages 21-44 classes 1-4 (37 racers); Group B, men ages 45-59 classes 5-7 (73 racers); Group C, all women (67 racers); and Group D, men 60-plus classes 8-13 (85 racers):
Monday, March 29: Super combined on Cozy and Warm Springs.
Tuesday, March 30: Super giant slalom (C/D groups) on Warm Springs.
Wednesday, March 31: Super giant slalom (A/B groups) on Warm Springs at 9:30 a.m.
Thursday, April 1: Slalom (C/D groups) on Cozy at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., giant slalom (A/B groups) on Warm Springs 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Friday, April 2: Slalom (A/B groups) on Cozy at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., giant slalom (C/D groups) on Warm Springs 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Banquet 6 p.m. in the Sun Valley Inn Limelight Room followed by awards there at 7:30 p.m.
