Ketchum businesswoman Cheryl Welch will be awarded the Ann and Doug Christensen Humanitarian Award this spring for her service to the community. The award is given each year by the Light on the Mountains Center for Spiritual Living south of Ketchum.

Welch has owned and operated Chapter One Bookstore on Main Street in Ketchum for 30 years. She was a driving force in creating the annual Sun Valley Wellness Festival, and has sponsored the Hemingway Elementary School book fair for more than 30 years.

The Ann and Doug Christensen Humanitarian Award was created by Light on The Mountains as a way to honor people whose dedicated work has greatly influenced the quality of life in the local community and beyond.

This year's award luncheon will take place Saturday, April 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lodge Dining Room in Sun Valley.
