Reggae, blues and rock take over valley

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day today at the Sun Valley Brewery in Hailey with a special performance by the Los Angeles band The Forty Fours at 8 p.m. The brewery will also serve a special Irish menu. On Friday, March 19, the Sun Valley Brewery will have live music by HillFolk Noir at 8:30 p.m. The Forty Fours will also return to play the brewery on Sunday, March 21, at 8 p.m.

Sun Valley's Boiler Room will have its final comedy series show with Micheal Loftus and John Moyer on Friday, March 19, and Saturday, March 20. The show is $15 at the door and $10 with a Sun Valley ski pass or lift ticket. After the comedy show, the Boiler Room will have live music by the Matt Lewis Band at 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. There is a cover charge at the door, but the first 10 people get in free, so go early. The Matt Lewis Band will also play at Warm Springs Lodge in Ketchum from 2-5 p.m. through Sunday, March 21.

Whiskey Jacques' keeps bringing excellent musicians to Ketchum. Hellbound Glory will play on Friday, March 19. On Saturday, March 20, get down with Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band. Cover charge at the door and all shows start at 10 p.m.

The Roosevelt Grill in Ketchum will host Captain Dano and the Nobodies featuring Piers Lamb on Friday, March 19, at 10 p.m. In addition, Papa Hemi's Hideaway will have live music tonight from 6-8 p.m. and Friday and Saturday evenings from 6:30-9:30 p.m.

The Cox Communications Winter Concert Series will feature Boise reggae band Voice of Reason on Thursday, March 18, from 4-6 p.m. at Ketchum's Town Plaza. Voice of Reason will also play at Apple's Bar and Grill in Ketchum on Saturday, March 20, for the MAD Turns for Haiti fundraising ski race event.

At the Silver Dollar in Bellevue, don't miss the valley's own Cosmic Beans on Friday, March 19, at 9 p.m.
