Lynne Crofts

Mary Lynne Simpson Crofts, 65, of Nampa, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010.

Lynne was born Feb. 8, 1945, in Hailey, Idaho, to Will (Lefty) and Mary Simpson. Lynne was a mischievous and lovable child. She had an imagination that constantly amazed her mother. Her father especially adored her. She was his constant shadow until a car accident tragically took his life when she was 5 years old.

Lynne grew up in Ketchum, where she attended elementary and middle school. Lynne was a great skier and could keep up with the instructors at a young age. She was an active child, she could be found skating at the Sun Valley ice rink, playing at a friend's house or entertaining her mother's friends. Everyone in her small community told Lynne how nice it was to see her, because she was always smiling.

After graduating from Hailey High, she married the high school football star, Terry Crofts. They started a family right away. Kevin was born in 1963, followed by Kip, Keely, Kole and Kristie. Lynne loved her children. This was shown through her many hours of watching football, volleyball, basketball, baseball and softball games, washing football pants and going to swim meets. Lynne was able to juggle children, home and husband to graduate from Boise State College with a nursing degree in 1974.

Lynne adored her 15 grandchildren. Much of her time was spent attending their activities, worrying about them and encouraging them in their various pursuits.

Lynne enjoyed several hobbies. She loved to travel with Terry. They took the 5th wheel to McCall and enjoyed being together in the mountains. They took several road trips to warmer climates like Arizona and California. In the spring, Lynne couldn't wait to get outside to start weeding, pruning and coaxing flowers to bloom. She was also a budding photographer; she loved to take pictures of the places she visited and her grandkids. She was blessed to have many dear friends, she cherished these wonderful relationships.

Lynne is survived by her husband, Terry; five children, Kevin (Becky) Crofts of Middleton, Kip (Melissa) Crofts of Middleton, Keely (Todd) Cheney of Caldwell, Kole (Emilee) Crofts of Meridian and Kristie (Scott) McConnell of Nampa. Grandchildren; Braydon, Burkley, Brooklyn and Bailey Crofts; McKena Crofts; Max, Jak and Wil Cheney; Hailee, Maycee, Stone, Sadee and Klete Crofts; Kurtis and Kourtney McConnell and a brother, Leon (Ann) Simpson and many special Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 11, 2010, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Nampa. Burial followed at Wendell Cemetery, Wendell, Idaho.
