Injured skier dies in Boise hospital


Ketchum resident Jeff Ogden died Saturday, March 13, at St. Alphonsus Medical Center in Boise, where he was a patient in the Intensive Care Unit following a skiing accident on Bald Mountain.

Ogden, 53, reportedly hit a tree while skiing in Sigi's Bowl on upper Bald Mountain, Saturday, March 5. The Sun Valley Ski Patrol responded to the accident and transported Ogden to paramedics from the Ketchum Fire Department, who then brought him to St. Luke's Wood River Medical Center near Ketchum. Ogden was then transferred to St. Alphonsus by a Life Flight helicopter.

Ogden was the owner of Intermountain Construction, the general contractor for many Sun Valley Company projects.

Funeral services will be at noon, Saturday, March 20, at the Iona LDS Stake Center (55th East and Ririe Highway), in Idaho Falls, with Bishop Kim Ryan officiating.

The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 19, at Wood Funeral Home East Side Chapel in Idaho Falls and from 11-11:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
