Death-by-chocolate, a chili mystery or a killer silent auction are just a few things a patron of this year's Community Library benefit, Our Moveable Feast, will experience. The sixth annual spring fundraising event will take place on Sunday, March 14, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at The Community Library in Ketchum. Tickets are $100.

The affair will feature four mystery-themed rooms of food inspired by mystery writers. In addition, the benefit will include wine, beer and, of course, desserts. The benefit has more than 90 items for its silent auction, including a balloon surprise raffle, and seven grand auction items. Prizes include a stay at a house in Provence, France, a river trip on the Main Salmon River, a Seattle trip, a Hawaii trip and many day trips, gift certificates and merchandise from valley businesses and shop owners.

Lizzie's Coffee has created a special Our Moveable Feast blend, and a special $10 raffle will give a winner two tickets for The Community Library's home tour opening party on Friday, Aug. 6, which will take place at a Sun Valley home with guest speaker Michael Clinton, the executive vice president and publishing director of Hearts magazines.

< "The food is going to be great," said Development Director Colleen Crain. "The main entrance for the event will be through the Children's Library."

Crain said the event has an array of Wood River Valley restaurants featuring food and the auction will have a number of wine lots.

"Everyone has been so generous," Crain said. "We are open 309 days a year and have over 140,000 visitors every year. Almost everything we offer is free and this benefit makes a difference in our operations."

Crain said she was especially pleased this year with a benefit organizer core committee of younger participants, including this year's chair Kaz Thea as well as auction chairs Danielle Travers and Dana Dugan. In addition, Suz Bilkey, Leslie Silva, Kathleen Turner, Susan Witman, Mary Reagle, Jeanne Wright, Gail Bieker and Marilyn Alcomo were also generous with their help. Sue Bridgman Florist is providing the entry bouquet.

"A new addition, this year is Leslie Silva, who has been a great support especially with Sun Valley," Crain said. "We need to keep the library sustainable for generations to come."
