Top teams don’t budge in Town Series racing

Scott USA, Ski Tek still ahead on Cozy


Eight of the 28 teams scored the desirable 0.00 points Wednesday in Week Five of the 19th annual Sun Valley Town Series of alpine ski racing on Baldy's Cozy ski run.

But the leaders remained the sam—Scott USA (0.26) keeping a slim lead over Ski Tek Trainwrecks (0.39), with Wood River Masonry (0.73) lingering not far back in third place.

On the Scott USA leaders are John Zuck, John Reagle, Toby Arnett and Jeff Page. Trainwreckers are Phil Erlanger, Mark Masur, Chris Campbell and Brent Hansen. Wood River Masonry racers are Wes Powell, Cam Fraser, Chase Gouley and Jason Haase.

Top 10 racers in the best single-run format Wednesday:

Robin Sarchett 25.69, Wes Powell 26.47, Matt Murphy 26.97, Cam Fraser 27.22, John Campbell 27.31, Cam Minor 27.41, Mike Gowe 28.35, Kipp Nelson 28.40, Ash Higgins 28.47 and Erika Hogan 28.59.

Billy Cook had the rabbit time of 33.92. Further dates for dual modified giant slaloms are March 10 (party at Lefty's) and March 17 (finals party at Apple's Bar & Grill). The second and final combined two-run event is March 17.
