The Sun Valley Spiritual Film Festival will host author and adventurer Jon Turk for a lecture at the nexStage Theatre in Ketchum on Tuesday, March 9.

Turk will also sign his most recent book, "The Raven's Gift: A Scientist, a Shaman and Their Remarkable Journey Through the Siberian Wilderness." The book signing will take place at 6 p.m., followed by Turk's lecture at 7 p.m.

"The Raven's Gift" takes a reader on an adventure that covers five expeditions to northeast Siberia with Turk and his friend Moolynaut, a 100-year-old healer and shaman who lives in the small village of Vyvenka, Russia. Turk will share his revelations and discoveries with Moolynaut, including her belief that all the wild spaces on Earth provide the foundation for spiritual healing and physical well-being.

Turk has kayaked across the North Pacific and around Cape Horn, mountain biked through the Gobi desert, made first climbing ascents of big walls on Baffin Island and first ski descents in the Tien Shan Mountains in Kyrgyzia.

Tickets are $15 at the door. Wine and beer will be available. For details, call 788-9729.
