Baldy to close April 18

Sun Valley Co. announced this week that Bald Mountain's 74th season will continue through Sunday, April 18. That gives alpine enthusiasts seven more weeks to enjoy skiing and boarding on Baldy. Last season, the mountain closed on April 12.

The second portion of the Sun Valley Early/Late season pass is scheduled to kick in on March 30.

"Sometimes it goes into effect a little early," Sun Valley spokesman Jack Sibbach said. "We will have to see what snow conditions are like."

Dollar Mountain will continue operation through Easter Sunday, April 4.
