Labor office moves to Bellevue

Facility offers numerous services to employers, workers

By EXPRESS STAFF

The Idaho Department of Labor's Wood River Valley office has moved from Hailey to Bellevue. The new location is 733 N. Main St., Suite C. The phone number, 788-3526, remains the same.

Office Manager Chris Orders said the Bellevue local office is larger and has a conference room that can be used by employers to interview potential employees and for other purposes.

The Idaho Department of Labor and its 25 local offices throughout the state help match qualified people with employers who need workers.

Businesses can post job listings online to the department's Web site, tap agency personnel to help manage résumés and job applications, organize and promote recruiting events and coordinate interviews with potential candidates, all free of charge.

Locally, department workforce consultants help displaced workers secure the training they need to find good jobs in other industries. Office staff also help new and existing businesses identify tax credits and job training grants available for payroll expansion, and they work with human resource professionals to manage workforce fluctuations due to business expansion or restructuring.

Each office organizes and promotes local recruiting initiatives such as industry-specific job fairs and workshops and other events designed to help employers navigate complex wage and hour laws or control unemployment insurance costs.
