Bellevue marshal warns of car burglaries

By TERRY SMITH
Express Staff Writer

The Bellevue Marshal's Office is cautioning residents to lock their car doors following a rash of attempted vehicle burglaries Wednesday night.

"We've got somebody wandering around town looking for unlocked cars, and when they find them they're taking small items," Marshal Bryan Carpita said.

The marshal said a small amount of cash was taken from one vehicle in the south part of Bellevue and he investigated three other attempted thefts in the north part of town.

"I'm expecting to get several other calls today when people start noticing things missing out of their vehicles," he said.
