The Blaine County Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested two people Tuesday on drug charges and both of the suspects face the possibility of further charges for allegedly violating felony probations.
Breeanne Smania, 22, of Hailey, was charged Wednesday in Blaine County Magistrate Court with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested Tuesday evening at a residence on River Street in Hailey.
Scott R. Nicholson, 33, of Ketchum, was charged in magistrate court Wednesday with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. He was arrested Tuesday evening in the parking lot at the Albertson's convenience store in Hailey.
Ketchum Police Chief Steve Harkins, who also serves as director of the county's narcotics team, said police conducted searches of Smania and Nicholson after receiving reports from the probation office that both of them were involved in possible drug activity.
Smania is on probation for a 2007 felony conviction for possession of a controlled substance, while Nicholson is on probation for a 2009 conviction for possession of a controlled substance.
Both suspects remained incarcerated Thursday in the Blaine County jail, Smania on $50,000 bond and Nicholson on $100,000 bond.
