Olympics aren’t about nationalism

I love watching the Olympics on TV and hearing about them via the various news media. But I have a huge problem: Which country got which medals and how many is not what these games should be about, except possibly as a minor statistic counted up at the end of the games. People from the small countries who have worked so hard to get to Vancouver should be recognized as great athletes even though they might never win a medal. Awards and their politics are superficial compared to the huge athleticism and courage of these great individual competitors.
