Trainwrecks take over Town Series lead


The Ski Tek Trainwrecks and Casino Dancing Bears are the teams to be reckoned with after Week Three of the 19th annual Sun Valley Town Series dual modified giant slaloms.

Ski Tek moved into first place in the 28-team race with a spotless 0.00 three-week total Wednesday on Baldy's Cozy ski run. On the team are Phil Erlanger, Mark Masur, Chris Campbell and Brent Hansen.

Right behind at 0.06 over three weeks, with a 0.00 effort Wednesday was Casino Dancing Bears with Kevin Doyle, Neil Jessen, Paige Griffith and Franny Hjort. Others with 0.00 days were Dead Last, Rainbow Warriors, Hores to Culture, Lick My Bowls, Flat Out Ridiculous and Four by Fours.

Top 10 racers in the best-of-two runs format Wednesday:

Carlo Rixon 25.33, Nate Schwing 25.90, Robin Sarchett 25.92, Wes Powell 26.59, Matt Murphy 26.89, John Campbell 27.27, John Lee 27.37, Cam Minor 27.54, Jan Hegewald 27.70 and Cam Fraser 27.99.

Lenny Joseph and Mitra Marie came closest to the rabbit time of 33.74. There were 100 racers. The series takes a week off and resumes Feb. 24. That party is at The Casino.
