Shimeno Renfrow

Shimeno Renfrow, 81, passed peacefully in the early-morning hours on Feb. 1, 2010.

Shimeno was born Feb. 5, 1928, in Miyazaki, Japan. She moved to the United States in late 1961 and gained her U.S. citizenship in 1966. After raising her daughters, she worked for 15 years as a nanny in Boise, Las Vegas and the Wood River Valley. Many hearts will miss her. She was a wonderful mother and very loving grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Dirk) Hallowell of Fairfield, Cathey McGonigal of Boise and Yumiko (Momoru) Tsubakiyama of Miyazaki, Japan; her granddaughter, Yuriko Neher of Boise, grandson Drew Hallowell of Fairfield and granddaughter Kanae' and grandson Uye' Tsubakiyama of Miyazaki, Japan.

Shimeno always had a smile on her face and was a joy to everyone who knew and cared for her. A private family gathering will be held at a later date to celebrate her life.
