Gary C. Hardman

Gary C. Hardman, 70, was taken to be with our Lord, on Jan. 27, 2010, at his home surrounded by his family. Gary was the owner of "Hardman's Hardware" in Hailey, Idaho, for 20 years and a VSO/CHP officer in the Ventura, Calif., area for 23 years. He was actively involved in both the St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Charles churches.

Gary and Patti had celebrated their 50th anniversary in August. They traveled the U.S. for 10 years making numerous friends. Gary volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, HELP of Ojai and worked with the Workampers organization. Gary enjoyed hiking and making hiking sticks, music and dancing.

Gary now joins his parents and two grandchildren as he begins his new life journey. He leaves four children: Kelly (John) Irwin, of Sparks, Nev; Kary (Catherine) Hardman, of Ventura, Calif.; Kayle (Shannon) Moore, of Redding, Calif.; and Tyson (Jerri) Hardman, of Ojai, Calif; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind three brothers, four sisters, a stepmother and other extended family members.

A service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Ojai, Calif. In lieu of flowers please make donations to HELP of Ojai, 111 W. Santa Ana St., Ojai, CA 93023. Remember, always Gary liked fun and to make people laugh—the road goes on forever and the party never ends!
