The Wood River Valley is full of talented musicians. This weekend enjoy a few valley bands at Papa Hemi's Hideaway. Spare Change will play on Friday, Jan. 29, and The Mighty Shims will play on Saturday, Jan. 30. Both shows begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 9:30 p.m.

Spare Change is the duo of Chip Booth on guitar, banjo and mandolin and Peter Boice on guitar. The two play a mix of bluegrass, jazz and folk. The Mighty Shims are Booth with Fletcher Brock on mandolin and guitar and Jim Paisley on bass. Lots of bluegrass, folk and guitar picking make The Mighty Shims a powerful show. In addition, Brock is an accomplished luthier and plays his own handcrafted instruments.

The Sun Valley Brewery in Hailey will feature Wood River Valley band Up A Creek at a party after Ski the Rails on Saturday, Jan. 30. The band will start at 2 p.m.

Whiskey Jacques' will hold a movie premiere for Signatures on Saturday, Jan. 29, at 8 p.m. followed by the funk band Salem. The event is a benefit for the Sawtooth Avalanche Center and the Sun Valley Tele Series with a $10 cover fee at the door. Salem will play at 10 p.m.

For a complete listing of music events in the valley, see the Music, Dance and Theater section of the Calendar on Page C5.
