Tostitos made right choices

Where else can you read opinions on what chips to buy? Right here in our very own Idaho Mountain Express!

I have decided to support "good companies" this year. One of these is Tostitos chips. Yes, it's because they love having the well-deserving Boise State Broncos come on down and "Fiesta," but it's also about doing the right thing. The belief of the Fiesta Bowl, which is sponsored by Tostitos, is to have the best match-ups in college football play each other, not the two biggest schools they can get their hands on (read: "the two biggest moneymakers").

The fact that BCS bowl games should be about the best college football teams in each division (encompassing all conferences) in that season competing against each other (regardless of what teams did what in the past) got lost many years ago in the greed for money. The rest of the BCS bowl games follow the "biggest moneymaker" rules—this year is a classic example. The Fiesta Bowl committee made its choices knowing both TCU and Boise State are smaller in terms of students on campus, and perhaps sacrificed a few dollars in doing the right thing.

Since in life what you put out comes back to you, I will be purchasing Tostitos chips (especially the organic ones) for life to give back to them for doing the right thing. It's refreshing to feel good about supporting good things, isn't it?
