Despite the advantage of six forfeits by Buhl, the Wood River wrestling team and the Indians staged a hotly contested meet in Hailey on Tuesday.
"The wrestlers they did have were very tough and they came within 12 points," Wood River coach Shawn Huntington said. "We got big pins by Tanner Orchard and Alex Thomas. Alex's pin sealed the victory for us. Alex got put to his back and if he had gotten pinned we would have tied Buhl, but Alex fought off his back and pinned his opponent to give us the victory."
The Wolverines emerged with a 48-36 victory, and hope to have continued success at Burley on Friday. In their final home meet of the season, the Wolverines will host Twin Falls and Hillcrest on Jan. 27.
