Agencies mobilize to help Haitians

By EXPRESS STAFF

As devastating news from earthquake-ravaged Haiti continues to pour in, local, national and international organizations are mobilizing to get aid to the victims as quickly as possible.

Wood River Valley native Reed Lindsay, who is currently in Haiti, is the founder of the Honor and Respect Foundation. According to a statement from the foundation, all money donated as of Jan. 12 will be directed toward alleviating the suffering of earthquake victims in Haiti. According to Lindsay, Honor and Respect has no overhead, so 100 percent of funds received will reach Haiti.

Donations via check can be sent to: Honor and Respect Foundation, PO Box 1674, Hailey, ID 83333-1674. Donations via credit card can be made through PayPal or Google by going to http://www.hrfhaiti.org/donate.html.

On a national level, former Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush are encouraging donations through the Web site www.clintonbushhaitifund.org, which has been set up to help get funds to victims.
