Wood River wrestling coach Sean Huntington packed the bus with varsity and junior varsity athletes to participate in the Madison Invitational in Rexburg.

Blackfoot won the varsity team standings with 251 points. Pocatello was second at 170, and Jerome third at 162. Bolstered by Tanner Orchard's win of the 152-pound class, the Wolverines posted 67 points to take ninth.

Of the six varsity wrestlers, four placed in the top six, including Kasey Barker, 3rd at 189, Nick Chase, 4th at 145, Alex Thomas, 5th at 285.

In the junior varsity competition, the young Wolverines turned in some dominating performances, winning two weight classes with six athletes qualifying for championship matches.

"The guys at the JV tournament did an amazing job," Huninton said.
