Win your match or your team loses—no, there was no pressure at all on Wood River High School 145-pound senior Nick Chase Wednesday night in the final match of a triangular wrestling meet, Wood River's first home matches of 2010.

The Wolverines trailed 42-41 when Chase took the mat, and he wasted no time being aggressive. Building leads of 4-0 after one period and 6-1, Chase put the finishing touches on Wood River's 47-42 team victory over the pesky Wendell Trojans with a convincing pin at 3:21.

Chase's pin was one of six falls won by Wood River in its exciting dual meet win over Wendell. From 140 pounds and on, the Wolverines were tough. There were pins by Eric DeLeon at 140, Storm Anderson at 160, Kasey Barker at 189, Auden Ruhter at 215 and Alex Thomas at 285. In addition, Andrew Beck battled to a five-point 19-4 win at 125.

Earlier in the evening, Wood River outlasted the Filer Wildcats 48-36 with pins by Beck at 125, Zach Brown at 130, Anderson at 160, Barker at 189 and Thomas at 285. The Wolverines also collected six-point forfeit wins from Tyler Bartlett at 112, Tommy Bailey at 135 and Chase.

On Tuesday, Wood River hosts the Buhl Indians on the Hailey mat.
