Base village meeting postponed

A Ketchum City Council meeting on the proposed annexation of 138 acres at the River Run base of Bald Mountain, originally scheduled for tonight, has been postponed to Thursday, Feb. 11.

The meeting will be a continuation from a previous council meeting on Dec. 9. The February meeting will focus on the fiscal impacts of adding this much land to the city, looking at the possible dollars the development would bring to the city as well as the costs.

Sun Valley Co. is proposing to extend city streets throughout the property and is asking the city to foot the bill of maintaining the pavement and plowing the streets. The council is expected to discuss many other financial implications but not to come to a decision on the annexation on Feb. 11.
